  • Author: Christine

Description

This Cream Cheese and Bacon Stuffed Doritos Chicken is the perfect fusion of crunchy, creamy, and savory flavors. Juicy chicken breasts are filled with a creamy blend of cheddar cheese, cream cheese, and crispy bacon, then coated with crushed Doritos for a unique and flavorful crust. It’s a fun, indulgent recipe that’s ideal for game day, weeknight dinners, or when you want to impress your family with something a little different.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices cooked bacon crumbled
  • 2 cups crushed Doritos any flavor
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley chopped, optional for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  • Carefully slice a pocket into each chicken breast without cutting through completely.
  • In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  • Spoon the cream cheese mixture into the chicken pockets. Press the edges together to seal.
  • Set up a breading station with three dishes: flour, beaten eggs, and crushed Doritos. Coat each chicken breast in flour, dip in eggs, and press into Doritos for an even coating.
  • Place chicken on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes until cooked through and the coating is golden and crispy.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Cheese: Feel free to mix up the cheeses! Cheddar is great for sharpness, but mozzarella or pepper jack can add a different dimension of flavor.
  • Doritos Flavors: Don’t be afraid to try different Doritos flavors like Cool Ranch or Spicy Nacho to customize the taste.
  • Healthier Option: For a lighter version, use baked chips and reduced-fat cream cheese, or substitute with turkey bacon.
  • Make Ahead: You can prepare the chicken up to the breading stage and refrigerate it for up to 24 hours. Just bake it fresh when you’re ready to serve.
  • Cooking Time: Depending on the thickness of the chicken, cooking times may vary slightly. Always check the internal temperature to ensure the chicken is cooked through.
