Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tsp fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
1️⃣ Season the chicken:
- Sprinkle the chicken breasts evenly with garlic powder, salt, and pepper on both sides.
2️⃣ Cook the chicken:
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the seasoned chicken breasts and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F).
- Once done, remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
3️⃣ Make the creamy garlic sauce:
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer, then stir in the fresh thyme.
- Let the sauce reduce slightly for about 5 minutes until it thickens.
4️⃣ Combine and serve:
- Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the creamy garlic sauce over the chicken.
- Let the chicken cook in the sauce for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- This dish pairs beautifully with rice, mashed potatoes, or sautéed vegetables.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, allow it to simmer a few extra minutes to reduce further.
