Garlic Cream Cheese Hawaiian Rolls are a delectable fusion of soft, sweet Hawaiian rolls filled with a creamy, savory garlic cheese mixture. These rolls are brushed with a rich garlic butter and baked until golden brown, making them an irresistible appetizer, side dish, or snack. The combination of the slightly sweet bread and the savory, garlicky filling creates a perfect balance of flavors that will have everyone reaching for seconds.

  • 12 count Hawaiian sweet rolls

Garlic Cream Cheese Filling

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 2 tbsp green onion diced
  • 1 tbsp parsley chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic minced
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp sugar

Garlic Butter

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tbsp parsley chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Garnish

  • 1/4 parmesan cheese grated

Instructions

  • In a bowl add all the ingredients for the garlic cream cheese filling and mix thoroughly until well combined.
  • Once combined transfer to a pipping bag and set aside.
  • Mix together the ingredients for the garlic butter and set aside.
  • Now, make crosscuts halfway into each roll dividing them into 4 connected pieces.
  • Fill the crosscuts with the garlic cream cheese filling to the best of your ability.
  • Brush on the garlic butter and place on the middle rack of a preheated oven at 350F.
  • Bake for 13-15 minutes or until the filling is melted and the tops are golden brown.
  • Once baked, topped with remaining garlic butter and some parmesan cheese.
  • Serve while warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Variations: Feel free to customize the filling by using different cheeses like sharp cheddar or Gruyère. You can also add cooked bacon, diced ham, or shredded chicken for a heartier version.
  • Make-Ahead: The rolls can be prepped a day in advance. Store the filling in the refrigerator and fill the rolls just before baking.
  • Storage: Leftover rolls can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a 300°F oven, covered with foil, until warm.
